📞 (905) 261-9082We install a range of flooring types commonly used in Durham Region homes. The right product depends on the room, the subfloor condition, and how the space is used. We discuss the options during the quoting process so you can make an informed choice before any materials are ordered.
New flooring is only as good as what is underneath it. A subfloor that is uneven, soft, squeaky, or damaged will cause problems with almost any product installed on top of it — gaps open in hardwood, tile cracks, and LVP develops movement or hollow spots. Assessing and correcting the subfloor before installation is not optional if you want the result to hold up.
High-traffic areas benefit from flooring that is durable and easy to clean. Porcelain tile, luxury vinyl plank, and engineered hardwood in appropriate grades all perform well under heavy use. The right choice also depends on the subfloor, the presence of radiant heat, and whether the area is prone to moisture. We walk through the options with you based on your specific rooms and conditions.
Solid hardwood can often be sanded and refinished multiple times before it needs to be replaced. Engineered hardwood has a thinner wear layer and may have limited refinishing options depending on the product. Laminate and LVP cannot be refinished and should be replaced when they wear out. If you are unsure whether your existing flooring can be refinished or needs to come out, we can assess it during the quoting process.
We look at the subfloor condition, the rooms involved, and discuss what products make sense for how the space is used. You get a clear written quote that includes removal of existing flooring, subfloor prep, installation, and all transitions and trim.
Existing flooring is removed and disposed of. The subfloor is assessed and levelled or repaired where needed before any new product goes down.
Flooring is installed to manufacturer specifications. Transitions between rooms, thresholds at doorways, and baseboards or quarter-round are fitted to give the project a clean, finished look. Site is cleaned up thoroughly on completion.
Below-grade spaces in Ontario deal with temperature fluctuations and a higher moisture risk than above-grade rooms. Luxury vinyl plank, engineered hardwood in appropriate grades, and ceramic or porcelain tile all handle these conditions better than solid hardwood, which is generally not recommended below grade. We discuss the right product for your specific basement conditions when we quote the project.
Timeline depends on the size of the area, the product being installed, and the condition of the subfloor. We provide a realistic timeline specific to your project when we quote it.
In some cases, yes — but it depends on the height clearance, the condition of what is underneath, and the product being installed. Installing over a damaged or uneven surface will cause the new floor to fail. We assess the existing floor during the quoting process and tell you whether removal is necessary before making a recommendation.
Yes. Removal and disposal of existing flooring is included in our quotes unless the project scope specifically excludes it. We assess what is coming up and factor that into the timeline and price.
